# XPPen Deco L

### TLDR

This is the embodiment everything wrong with XP-Pen. Doesn't make it a bad tablet, nor does it make it hard to recommend.

### Getting the tablet

I just borrowed this from a friend of mine.

### Pen

Comes with the X3 elite pen. Pretty average pen to be completely fair. Doesn't feel bad to use. Pressure range is what you would expect - not great but not terrible either, it just feels fine to me.

7Pens has measured the max pressure to be around \~370g. Not bad!

### Testing

~~Oh god XP-Pen is going to hate me.~~ Anyway, onto the results!

#### Hover Smoothing

It's got a lot of it. And it's not consistent at all. It increases the higher up you hover.

#### Pressure scan rate

If you draw very very fast hatching lines, some literally won't register.

#### Tilt instability

Even if you leave the pen still, the tilt will just jitter. Creates instability with transitions if you use a tilt-sensitive brush.

#### Pressure smoothing

Unnoticeable, but the pressure has smoothing, though I don't think it affects drawing.
